Caring for the animals and ensuring they arrive healthy is our top priority. Therefore, we only ship live animals via UPS Next Day Air on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday.* This minimizes the possibility the animals will be sitting in a shipping carrier distribution center over a weekend. Shipping centers can have varying temperatures that can put an animal's health at risk so we want to minimize their time there. We will ship the following week if you place an order on a weekend.

We also monitor for extreme temperatures across the country before we ship animals. If you live in a part of the country experiencing extreme heat or cold temperatures, we will work with you to ensure we avoid shipping on days that have a high chance of putting your new animal's health at risk.

As we get your animals ready for their journey to you, we will send you emails so you can track them along the way. Please have a plan to be home upon their arrival and to acclimate them as soon as they arrive so they are ready to thrive in their new environment.

This item ships directly from World Wide Corals. Livestock orders over $179.99 ship FREE!

Overview

The Rainbow Bubble Tip Anemone adds a burst of vibrant color to any reef tank with its stunning blend of reds, greens, and blues. Known for its mesmerizing bubble-like tips, this anemone not only serves as a dynamic focal point but is also a popular host for clownfish, creating a natural and engaging display in your aquarium. Be mindful of its wandering nature, as it may move to find its ideal spot within the tank.

Water Parameters

This Anemone thrives in stable water conditions with regular water changes. Routine water testing helps ensure these needs are consistently met.

  • Specific Gravity (Salinity): 1.025-1.026
  • Temperature: 75-78 Degrees F
  • pH: 8.1-8.4
  • Alkalinity: 8-9.5 dKH
  • Calcium: 400-450ppm
  • Magnesium: 1300-1450ppm
  • Nitrate (NO3): 10-25ppm
  • Phosphate: 0.01-0.1ppm
  • Nitrite (NO2): Undetectable
  • Ammonia (NH3): Undetectable

Lighting Requirements

This Anemone prefers medium to high light, ideally in the 150-350 PAR range. A PAR meter is invaluable for fine-tuning light levels, helping ensure the aquarium's lighting can support the Anemone photosynthetic needs.

Ideal Tank Placement

Anemones will "walk" around the aquarium using their foot to hold onto the rockwork or glass. Try placing the anemone in an area of the rockwork with crevices where it's foot can easily grab hold. Regardless of where you first place the anemone, there is always a good chance that it'll move to find a spot it's most happy in.

Water Flow Requirements

Moderate water flow is ideal. Aim for movement that’s enough to gently shift the Anemone’s tentacles without blasting it with flow directly. Be sure to protect your anemones by using guards on your powerheads.

Aggressiveness and Compatibility

Anemones will sting just about anything they come into contact with. Because they're not sessile animals, we typically recommend adding anemones to the aquarium first, allowing them to find their perfect spot without the risk of them stinging corals along the way. With a little planning, keeping anemones in a reef tank is possible!

Feeding and Nutrition

While Anemones primarily rely on photosynthesis for energy, it can benefit from occasional target feedings with small meaty foods like mysis shrimp. Avoid using large chunks of food as it's hard for the anemone to digest them. These supplemental feedings can support faster growth and better coloration.

Growth Rate

Anemones have a fascinating way of reproducing most often referred to as "splitting." During this process, the anemone divides itself into two genetically identical clones. This natural reproduction method allows anemones to spread and thrive in the aquarium, often resulting in multiple anemones over time.
