Product Questions

I updated my Radions to the XR30 G6 pro. I was using reef link with my old Radions. I am not able to connect the G6 to reef link. Are they no longer compatible because of Mobius? Are there instructions on how to connect them if they are compatible?
Question by: Vinny C on Nov 30, 2022, 9:50 PM
Thanks for the question! The Gen 5 and Gen 6 Radions are not EcoSmart Life or Reef Link compatible and will need to be programmed and set up through Mobius. Please let us know if we can help with anything else!

Hi,
If for example my internet connection goes down which it often does in South Africa where I live. Can i still use the reeflink and my phone to control the lights via the local network like I can with a hydra for example with its built it app and Wi-Fi?

Or does there need to be a constant internet connection for the reeflink to work?
Question by: Richard Volker on Mar 9, 2020, 4:19 AM
Hi there,

You just need an internet connection to initially set up the light schedule. Once you program you can disconnect the ReefLink until a change needs to be made.

Take care

ill this work with a AI Hydra 52 non HD?? or is there any other alternative available to control the light?
Question by: Brian Dale on Oct 19, 2019, 12:06 PM
Reef link only works with EcoTech lights and there are no alternatives to control the hydra light except for their app or website.

Take care

Is this currently / will this become compatible with my AI Prime lights? I have seen the merger announcement which stated "Currently there are no plans to make the two brands compatible" but I believe that was in early 2014, so I'm not sure if there have been changes since then. My preference would be to use one system to control all my devices, and I don't think it'd be worth it to have only my Ecotech MP40wQD units controlled by this.
Question by: Dave on Jan 5, 2018, 5:09 PM
Thanks for contacting BRS!
Unfortunately, the AI Prime is not compatible with the Ecotech Reeflink. Have a great day!

Can I use this with my gen 2 xr30
Question by: Rodolfo Sanchez on Mar 5, 2017, 9:52 PM
Hey there,
The Radion Gen 2's use the same RF signal and are compatible with the Reeflink.

Have a great day!
Answer by: Zack on Mar 9, 2017, 1:47 PM
I'm either thinking of getting the radion Xr30 or xr15w is the reef link the only way to control the lighting through the phone or app or do the lights already come with a link in itself to have 100% control of them
Question by: John on Feb 6, 2017, 7:29 PM
Great question! The only way to control the lights, out of the box, is through a USB connection directly to your computer or laptop. If you wanted mobile/tablet access, you would need this ReefLink or a full aquarium controller like Neptune Apex with a WXM module. :-)

Do I need reeflink to access my mp10wqd from the ecosmart live app or sync with a second pump?
Question by: nik buhl on Mar 19, 2016, 4:24 PM
Great question!
You will need to reeflink to connect the MP10 to Ecosmart Live. You can program the wireless pumps to run a master slave without the reeflink however it does make the process easier. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!

According to the site if I buy a VorTech I am supposed to recieve 50% off of a reef link, however I go all the way through the order process without actually submitting my order and the 50% is not coming off. Any way to rectify this?
Question by: Nicholas on Aug 4, 2014, 5:29 PM

Hi Nicholas,
Every product that is eligible (like a VorTech) has two options on the page that you can add to your cart, either just the VorTech, or the VorTech + Reeflink where the additional cost for the Reef Link is only 50% of its normal price. You just want to add that particular product to your shopping cart.

How many different pumps/lights can u control? Currently have wxm but I have 4 rations and over 15 vortechs. I will sell wxm if I can control them all

Hey Michael,
The Reef Link is capable of controlling any combination of up to 64 devices. In fact, here at the office we probably have the better part of 2 dozen devices hooked up between all of our tanks, Radions, VorTechs, etc.

Can I control the MP10W with this unit?
Question by: Noob on Dec 12, 2013, 5:26 AM
At the current time you cannot but that is a feature that is being worked on and expected to be live by early 2014.
