The Best-In-Class Just Keeps Getting Better!

The newest generation of EcoTech Radion continues to lead the way in the industry with mind-blowing improvements in light output and color. With a new LED cluster, Hybrid Hemispherically Edge Illuminating (HEI2) optical system, and diodes pushing deeper into the UV spectrum; the G6 Radions are bound to become your new favorite LED reef light.

Why does BRS recommend the EcoTech Marine Radion?

Quite simply, EcoTech Marine Radions are the LED’s we most often choose to light our own tanks. With the chance to use just about any light we want, there are probably more Radions in use around BRS than any other LED fixture. Through years of experience, we’ve seen the proven results in our growing, thriving reefs.

From Aquaculture to the home aquarium, there is a high likelihood that the coral you know and love has been grown or “colored-up” under a generation of Radions.

Features and Improvements to the Radion G6

Radions are the standard in aquarium lighting for a reason. Each generation has built upon the successful results of the last, incorporating the latest in design and technology to bring us a state-of-the-art light that blends proven results with greater ease of use. Ecotech Marine has spent significant time and effort in developing and testing lighting programs, such as the popular SPS AB+, that deliver maximum results from their fixtures and bring out the best in our corals. The Radion G6 incorporates a new Hemispherically Edge Illuminating optic system with redesigned LED placement to deliver beautiful shimmer, superior color mixing, even PAR, incredible spread, and even adjustable hues!

  • New HEI2 Optic System
  • Super-Wide 126.3 Degree Spread
  • 395nm Diodes for Ultimate Fluorescence
  • Rebalanced Color Channels and LED Mix
  • Even PAR & High Output-- Almost 4ft of Coverage Area
  • Moonlight & Weather Simulation
  • Proven CoralLab AB+ Spectrum
  • Fully Programmable
  • Wireless Mobius App control

Mind-Blowing Spread with HEI2 Optical System

The Radion G6 achieves its mind-blowing 126.3 degree spread through a new and improved optical system. EcoTech implemented a change to the primary lens on the LEDs, which then integrates with the geometry of the existing HEI (Hemispherically Edge Illuminating) secondary lens to increase the output from an already impressive 110.5 to an outstanding 126.3 degrees! The super-wide spread has an added benefit of increasing output by reflecting off the aquarium side glass walls and reflecting light back into the tank, thus reducing shadows and providing light to the undersides of corals. This means that you can now light your tanks with even less fixtures! The G6 has the highest average output out of all Radions and can provide even PAR across almost four feet of coverage area, making it perhaps the most efficient aquarium light made to date.

Blue vs. Pro

The Radion G6 BLUE has gotten even bluer! Adjustments to the diode mix and the addition of 395nm offer new depths of color intensity and increased fluorescence. With the G6, you now have the ability to tune the Blue between actinic and crisp to find the perfect aesthetics for your tank.

The Radion G6 PRO is what you see as the lighting of choice in many public aquariums, aquaculture facilities, and coral spawning laboratories worldwide. It features a balanced LED mix with proven spectrums similar to the output of Metal Halide lighting.

Compact & Sleek, High-Quality Design

EcoTech Marine aims to produce the most minimally intrusive reef aquarium equipment available. The G6 continues to showcase Radion’s sleek styling, small footprint, and quiet fan with revolutionary heatsink. The Radion boasts a technologically superior design with premium quality components and unmatched customer support. Better yet, the Radion G6 is still backwards compatible with the extensive mounting options and accessories available to the previous generation of Radion, so you can still customize your lighting experience to fit your individual aquarium needs.

RMS Track System The 3-piece system lets you mount multiple Radion lights in a single track that lets you slide them back and forth to create the best coverage for your tank. The multi-light rail kit is available in lengths up to 8ft and is perfect for larger tanks, letting you use either a hanging kit to suspend the track system or the RMS Multi-Arm Kit for a tank mounting option. RMS multi-light kits work with both XR15 and XR30 model lights or a mixture of both.

Product Questions

Would the Radion XR30 be sufficient for an Innovative Marine 75 Nuvo? Are there other options that might work better? Thinking about flexibility for both LPS and SPS coral.
Question by: Robert Moeller on Jan 1, 2024, 6:48 PM
Yes, this light will work well with your tank. I would recommend taking care in placing your corals around the shadows that will be created by having a single light on a tank of this length.
Answer by: Laura (BRS Staff) on Feb 8, 2024, 11:24 AM
How many xr30s would you recommend for a 48 wide x 30 deep x 24 high. Mixed reef? I was thinking 4 xr15s but maybe 2 xr30s?
Question by: Joe Huante on Nov 27, 2023, 3:32 PM
You could go with two xr30s on your tank as the spread on them is 32" x 32" for a mixed reef.
Answer by: JJ K (BRS Staff) on Feb 2, 2024, 8:11 AM
So if two lights are recommended for a 48” tank. Would 3 be good for a 70” peninsula mixed reef?
Question by: Devin Beatty on Apr 15, 2023, 12:35 AM
Yes, three would be ideal for a 70" reef :)
Answer by: Ash (BRS Staff) on Apr 21, 2023, 11:12 AM
I have the Gen 4. But, I am about to upgrade to the 6. Will the same mounts work?
Question by: Aaron on Nov 6, 2022, 5:53 PM
Thanks for reaching out to us! You can use the same mounts, but will need to upgrade to the brand new Radion Slide X Brackets for the G6 Models.

Answer by: Kyle Thomas (BRS Staff) on Nov 9, 2022, 10:45 PM
My son has a Innovative Marine 30L NUVO Fusion Aquarium. Would one of these be ok for his aquarium or would it be too much light?

Thanks - Dave
Question by: David George on Aug 13, 2022, 2:19 PM
Thanks for the question! This light might illuminate the back chambers a bit much, but the Radion XR15 G6 Pro would be a better option as you can get two smaller lights that'll more effectively illuminate a long narrow tank over this single larger light fixture.
Answer by: Kyle Thomas (BRS Staff) on Aug 17, 2022, 11:16 AM
If Ecotech advertises a 4 feet wide spread for the XR30 G6 why do you recommend 2 units for a 48" length spread?
Question by: Nilson Ghelardi on May 19, 2022, 9:14 PM
Thanks for the question! The G6 lights have a lot of spread and will adequately light a lower light 4ft tank with a single fixture, so LPS like micro lords, blastos, gonis, and coralomorphs like zoas and mushrooms without much issue. Most people want the ability to keep a variety of corals, and the corals themselve will block light, so a second fixture is recommended. Think of the aquarium light as a flash light, you get a large shadow if you put your hand in front of it. If you get a second flash light pointing at a different angle, that shadow gets smaller or illuminates the shadow completely.
Answer by: Kyle Thomas (BRS Staff) on May 25, 2022, 9:09 AM
How do you control the lights. I don’t see a controller as part of the package?
Question by: Richard Flanagan on May 19, 2022, 2:39 PM
The light is controlled by a phone app called Mobius.
Answer by: Scott F. (BRS Staff) on May 19, 2022, 3:58 PM
So.. still no wifi connection?
Question by: Peter Moore on May 16, 2022, 8:11 AM
Hey there,
Thank you for reaching out to us. These are Blue Tooth connected lights.

Please let me know if you need anything further and take care!
Answer by: Matt Lucero (BRS Staff) on May 16, 2022, 12:49 PM
Would one light cover a 90 gallon tank? 48 inches in length, 18 inches wide and 24inched deep?
Question by: Rye on May 16, 2022, 7:45 AM
Hey there,
Thank you for reaching out to us. For that size tank, we would recommend two lights.

Please let me know if you need anything further and take care!
