Pharmaceutical Grade Salt for the Modern Aquaria!
Tropic Marin's Pro-Reef is the ideal foundation for any new tank from fish only to a full-blown reef tank. When used as your regular salt mix it will help bring better ionic equilibrium to the tank, stabilizing pH and allowing the proper balance of carbonates to bicarbonates, leading to faster overall coral growth. Designed to meet the strict requirements of reef aquariums, Tropic Marin Pro Reef Salt mix contains optimized levels of calcium and magnesium while keeping the correct pH value and a balance of all 70 trace elements required by corals to grow and thrive.

Instructions
We suggest starting with 1/2 Cups of Tropic Marin Pro Reef Salt per 1 Gallon of RODI water. For the best results, the water should be circulating and at a temperature of 73-77 °F. Once the water is up to temperature and circulating, slowly adding the appropriate amount of salt will allow it to fully dissolve quickly without creating any concentrated areas where precipitation may occur.
When you have added almost all of the salt and the mixture is fully dissolved and clear, start measuring the specific gravity with a refractometer or similar instrument. Keep adding small amounts of salt until the specific gravity is the value you desire. The specific gravity of the sea salt solution should range from 1.025 to 1.027 (at 73-77 °F / 23-25 °C) and the pH -value should be in the range of 8.0 – 8.4. If all parameters are correct, the salt water is ready to use.
Note: Always add the salt to the water, never the water to the salt.

Product Questions
Thank you for reaching out to us. One of the benefits of the Tropical Pro reef salt products is it has an longer storage period.
Prepared salt water can be stored for several weeks before use in the aquarium. Please let me know if you need anything further.

Happy Reef Keeping.
Great question! While the salt contains all major, minor, and trace elements that you would find in the ocean it will not supplement or maintain these trace element levels unless you are performing frequent water changes. The Triton supplements are a great way to replenish these levels as they are consumed by your reef system.

Thanks for reaching out to us and great question! The classic salt mix can still be used with a calcium reactor, however it is best to use lower alkalinity salts since you will be supplementing your tank with the calcium reactor anyways. So it is definitely possible, just significantly easier with the classic, If you have any other questions let us know.
Happy reefing! :)
The Pro Reef salt is a balanced salt mix with levels for Alk closer to natural seawater. This Alk level is a little lower than some reefers aim for, but is intentionally so for balanced and stable parameters for storage and inside the tank.
The Classic salt has elevated Alkalinity, but lower Calcium and Mag for those who desire higher Alk. There also is a balanced ratio of Alk to Calcium with this salt mix, but in reverse of the Pro Reef, in order to help prevent precipitation.
The Bio-Actif salt is just like the Pro Reef, except it is intentionally higher in Alk and also includes carbon dosing compounds for a "dual purpose" type of salt. This is recommended to be mixed up and used as needed due to the elevated levels of Alk/Ca as well as the potential for carbon dosing compounds to break down over longer term storage.
