Triton Detox is composed of different organics that specialize in binding to heavy metals that in excess can be harmful to your aquarium. Detox is the only product on the market that can actually remove copper down to undetectable levels with ICP testing. Heavy metals can be introduced to a reef tank through various items like electronics, foods, tools, and more. Some of the most common sources are faulty pump wiring, biopellets, poorly filtered source water, and foods, which in excess can cause coral to bleach with little to no polyp extension and prolonged exposure can be fatal to coral. To make sure that your tank has the correct levels make sure to employ Tritons ICP-OES testing.
Instructions:
Remove any activated carbon sources from your aquarium. Add up to 3mL per 100L of water volume and let the system run for 72 hours. A brown discoloration of the aquarium water is normal and is harmless. Replace the activated carbon that was removed with fresh carbon. The new carbon will remove the brown discoloration along with the heavy metals that are bound to it.
It is highly recommended to utilize Triton ICP-OES testing for dosage requirements.
