Hang-On & Nano Skimmers
Smaller aquariums may not have a sump and that is where a hang on or nano skimmer comes into play. The skimmers use a variety of mounting options and depending on the skimmer it could be as simple as a HOB (Hang On Back) type or skimmers like the Tunze Comline DOC series are fully internal and utilize magnets to hold them in place. A lot of smaller reef tanks do not require a skimmer but when given the choice to use one, almost every reefer will put a skimmer on their aquarium.
