With the evolution of protein skimmers, algae scrubbers, UV, and ozone there are now many different ways to set up a successful reef tank. Our goal is to create a low-maintenance filtration system that over time will be stable and self-sufficient. Systems like ozone and UV are commonly brought up in the conversation when it comes to set it and forget it style equipment, but it was surprising how many of you commented, that a skimmer should not be necessary on the softy and LPS tanks.
