Trace elements for your BRS Bulk 2-Part : The BRS / Tropic Marin Hybrid Balling
We are excited to have partnered with Tropic Marin and come up with a comprehensive dosing solution for medium to heavy demand reef aquariums. We combined the affordable BRS Pharma Bulk Two-Part package with Tropic Marin's Trace Elements and Balling Method Part C to provide all of the necessary major, minor, and trace elements corals consume in your reef tank. When dosed correctly you can maintain complete ionic balance and won't experience an excess of sodium and chloride ions like you would experience dosing two-part alone.
There will be four total liquid solutions designed for dosing into your reef aquarium each day, simply follow the mixing instructions below. Dosing is no different than your standard two-part dose and you can use the BRS Reef Calculator to calculate the appropriate dosages. The Tropic Marine Part C is then dosed based on your daily alkalinity dose and should be exactly double the amount of your daily BRS Soda Ash solution.
Bulk Total Package Makes up to:
- 6 Gallons of BRS Liquid Calcium Solution
- 6 Gallons of BRS Soda Ash Liquid Alkalinity Solution
- 2 Gallons of BRS Magnesium Mix for 2-Part Maintenance
- 10 Gallons of Tropic Marin Part C
Mixing Instructions:
BRS Pharma Balling Method Calcium Liquid Solution - Fill a 1-gallon container 4/5 full of RO/DI or distilled water and then add 2 1/2 cups (514 grams) of BRS Calcium Chloride into the container. Secure the cap on the container and shake it for about 10 seconds to help start the dissolving process. Remove the cap and add the desired amount of Tropic Marin Pro Coral Trace K+ Trace 1(80ml low demand, 160ml medium demand, 330ml high demand system), fill the container the rest of the way with RO/DI or distilled water. Give the container a few more shakes and then let it sit until all the salts have fully dissolved before use.
BRS Pharma Balling Method Soda Ash Liquid Alkalinity - Fill a 1-gallon container 4/5 full of RO/DI or distilled water and then add 2 1/3 cups (381 grams) of BRS Soda Ash into the container. Secure the cap on the container and shake it for about 10 seconds to help start the dissolving process. Remove the cap and add the desired amount of Tropic Marin Pro Coral Trace A- Trace 2(80ml low demand, 160ml medium demand, 330ml high demand system), fill the container the rest of the way with RO/DI or distilled water. Give the container a few more shakes and then let it sit until all the salts have fully dissolved before use.
BRS Pharma Balling Method Magnesium Mix Solution - Fill a 1-gallon container 1/2 full of RO/DI or distilled water and then add 5 1/4 cups (933 grams) of BRS Magnesium Chloride and 2 cups (332 grams) of BRS Magnesium Sulfate into the container. Secure the cap on the container and shake it for about 10 seconds to help start the dissolving process. Remove the cap and fill the container the rest of the way with RO/DI or distilled water. Give the container a few more shakes and then let it sit until all the salts have fully dissolved before use.
Note: Because the Tropic Marin Part C solution also contains magnesium, your BRS Magnesium dose will be a much smaller volume vs if you weren't using Tropic Marin Part C. If you are adding Tropic Marin Part C to your current BRS 2 Part dosing regimine, you'll want to monitor magnesium closely in the first few weeks to fine tune your dose.
BRS Pharma Balling Method Part C (Tropic Marin) Mixing Instructions -Using a clean 1-gallon jug or container, fill it 1/2 full of RO/DI water. Add 4 scoops of Balling Part C to 1-gallon jug. Screw on the cap to the jug and shake it for about 10 seconds to start the dissolving process. Remove the cap and fill the container the rest of the way with RO/DI water. Replace the cap and give the container a few more shakes and let it sit until the salts are fully dissolved which should only take a couple of hours. Dosing is based on your aquarium's alkalinity dosage and will be twice that amount when using BRS Soda Ash.
Dosing Instructions:
When you are ready, use the BRS Reef Calculator to know exactly how much to dose!
Example dosing for 100-Gallon Aquarium
- Calcium Level Day 1 @ 8pm - 420ppm (desired level)
- Calcium Level Day 5 @ 8pm - 400ppm (current level)
- 5-Day Calcium Requirement - 102.3 mL (provided by BRS Reef Calculator)
- Daily Calcium Requirement - 20.46 mL (102.3 mL / 5 days)
- Alkalinity Level Day 1 @ 8pm - 9.0 dKH (desired level)
- Alkalinity Level Day 5 @ 8pm - 7.5 dKH (current level)
- 5-Day Alkalinity Requirement - 107.1 mL (provided by BRS Reef Calculator)
- Daily Alkalinity Requirement - 21.42 mL (107.1 mL / 5 days)
- Magnesium Level Day 1 @ 8pm - 1220 ppm(desired level)
- Magnesium Level Day 5 @ 8pm - 1240 ppm(current level)
- 5-Day Magnesium Requirement - 161.2 mL (provided by BRS Reef Calculator)
- Daily Magnesium Requirement - 32.4 mL (161.2 mL / 5 days)
Tropic Marin Part C Dosing Amount - You will need to refer to your daily Soda Ash (alkalinity) dosing amount and multiply it by two. That will be your daily dosage for Tropic Marin Part C.
Example: If your tanks daily alkalinity dosage is 21.42mL, then you will need 42.84mL of Tropic Marin Part C Daily.
