Best Problem Solvers and Pest Control of 2022
These are some of our favorite problem solvers that help safely overcome the most common pests that saltwater and reef aquarists encounter. From Cyano and Aiptasia to Ich and Flatworms, these solutions have proven to be effective in our own tanks here at BRS and consistently get positive ratings from our customers.
Frank's Aquarium F-Aiptasia
The best topical reef-safe aiptasia treatment we have used to date. The thick paste-like solution forms a crust upon layering on top of the aiptasia which prevents the solution from spreading throughout your reef tank, harming neighboring corals and invertebrates. The proprietary formula excels at sticking to the anemone, smothering it, and preventing the spread of baby anemones throughout your reef.
Korallen-Zucht Flatworm Stop
Korallen-Zucht Flatworm stop is not a harsh chemical treatment designed to kill Flatworms rather it works indirectly by making the flesh of Acropora corals unpalatable for pesky acro-eating flatworms. When used as directed it will effectively reduce the population of acro-eating flatworms in an infested tank and is an excellent preventative for continuous use in any reef aquarium containing Acropora and other stony corals.
When used in combination with Korallen Zucht Coral Booster, there is a synergistic effect that produces thick, healthy coral flesh that is resistant to predation by acro-eating flatworms.
Boyd Enterprises Chemi-Clean Red Cyano Treatment
Red Slime, more appropriately Cyanobacteria, is the scourge of any aquarium and tends to plague newer reef tanks or those aquariums experiencing bacterial imbalances. Regardless of why it shows up, Cyano is a very common pest that most all hobbyists encounter at some point.
Chemi-Clean is 100% safe for fish, corals, and invertebrates and will quickly eliminate stains caused by cyanobacteria in your aquarium within 48 hours of treatment.
Endich Copper Power Treatment
Copper Power is a popular fish medication used by hobbyists and professionals alike to treat a variety of external parasites including the dreaded Ich and Marine Velvet.
While Copper Power is not safe for direct addition to your reef aquarium, it is safe for use in a quarantine tank and is one of the most stable copper formulations on the market. It will not precipitate quickly meaning it's much easier to maintain sufficient copper levels compared to alternative copper-based medications.
