Managing nitrates and phosphates by feeding more or less food is a thing of the past. Our reef tank filtration methods are so far advanced, changing feeding habits to control excess nutrients is a pin prick in the overall solution. However don't forget about the power of choosing the right fish and coral foods to help optimize phosphate and nitrate independently.
It's all about choices. Certain frozen fish foods might have lower phosphates than dry foods while dry foods and pellets might have more nitrates. Gaming these foods could be the solution to finding a balance or equilibrium between of the nutrients in your tank.
