This presentation will focus on sustainable wild collection of Australian Fish and Coral within the world heritage listed Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and adjacent Coral Sea Fishery. Methods of collection and onboard holding will be discussed with emphasis on the deep water rare fish, SPS and LPS coral collection. High definition underwater footage of aquarium collection divers at work, in a range of habitats, will give the audience a fish eye view of the way in which aquarium stock is harvested using world’s best practice. Fish and coral holding at Cairns Marine’s state of the art facility will also be covered along with the husbandry associated with their optimal care.
