Why does BRS recommend this?
Those who have used Cepex ball valves know they are worth every penny. Most hardware stores carry cheap ball valves that over time get hard to turn and can break pretty easily. Cepex ball valves will last a lifetime with super smoother operation. We are always recommending the use of unions on plumbing as well. Unions make everything from plumbing to maintenance easier. Having a union on each side of the ball valve allows for easy removal of hardware, or isolation of equipment for service.
Cepex Ball Valves operate with smooth precision and last forever.
- Comes with slip AND thread fittings
- Smooth long-term operation
- Key for tightening seal
- Easy breakdown makes cleaning a breeze
- More professional look than white Schedule 40 PVC
The golden rule of plumbing is that every job takes three trips to the store. While this can be frustrating locally it can be much worse when shopping online. Being short a fitting or two can delay a plumbing project for days. Here are some quick tips to avoid this.
- Plan your plumbing on paper
- Don't skimp on unions. Unions allow for easy breakdown and maintenance as well as remove the need for precise elbow placement. Use them as often as possible.
- When in doubt order extra. We happily accept returns for a full refund (less shipping) on all unused fittings as part of our 365 day return policy. A few extra bucks in return shipping is less frustrating than a project delay.

What kind of threads is included with this?
A gate valve probably wouldn't help much more than a ball valve, in fact I prefer the ball valve because the control does not need to be as precise. If you are experiencing a leak in your valves please contact our customer support for warranty support.
Take care!
This ball valve is 4.5" in length.
While we don't sell the threaded nut portion of the valve, if you're looking to re-use a cepex ball valve, we do have replacement union ends, which can be purchased at the link below.

The 1" PVC pipe will slip into the Ball valve 1" fitting. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!
The 1" Cepex ball valve is 4 7/8" inches long from end to end.
Hope it fits for you!
Have a great day :)
Sch40 and sch80 have the same size fittings, etc and are interchangeable so no worries there. The slip fittings on the check valve are the same diameter as the pipe, so they can be connected with unions or really any other fititng that would connect two pieces of pipe.
Schedule 80 and 40 pvc are compatible. All the plumbing will have the corresponding nominal sizes, so a 1" Sch80 Cepex ball valve for example will fit 1" Sch40 pipe just fine.
