BM-T02 4-Head Expansion Accessory is NOT a stand-alone pump. Required BM-T01.

How close to the master unit does the slave need to be? Could the master be in 1 room and the slave in a different room?

Hey there-
The cable for connecting the slave BM-T02 to the master unit is going to be 18". If these will be on either side of the same wall it may be possible to connect them, but you are likely better off going for something like this: https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/x1-bluetooth-micropump-kamoer.html for use across different rooms.
