I have the BRS Dual Reactor, I just ordered two new cartridges, when replacing the gfo do you use both sponge filters , top and bottom? Someone told me to use only the top filter. Thanks

Hey John,
For the carbon you want to use both as you need to keep it from tumbling. On the GFO side the GFO will largely stay in the reactor cartridge on its own (and it doesn't matter if a little falls off the bottom, and gravity should keep it from going out the top) so you actually don't need to use either sponge, you can just keep those as replacements for the carbon cartridge when you need them.
