Could you use this to make a version of the Tunze 5074 calcium dispenser?
Question by: Scott Vandiver on Mar 18, 2016, 9:24 PM
Great question!
This kit will make a DIY version of the Tunze 5074. You can use a variety of bottles which work for your system. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!

How does this work once you make it? Do you just add your daily measured out solution into the container and let it slowly drip the entire amount? I'm guessing it's just a way to add the solution slowly or can you make it slow enough to dose over a couple days, if so how do you figure out the amount it is letting into your system?
Question by: James on Jun 5, 2014, 11:32 AM
Hey James,
You got it. You mix up the solution you need to dose for the day, put it in the container and start it dripping. Over the coarse of the day it will drip into the tank. We actually have a YouTube video on using it, you can find it right here:

What advantage would the dropper have over dosing from the ATO? Where is the best position for this on the tank?
Thanks
Question by: K on Mar 29, 2014, 1:16 PM
Hi there,
For most the dripper is not an advantage over putting it in your ATO. Its a solution for those who either don't have an ATO system or don't have one that is compatible with using kalk (like something that adds a lot of water to the tank at once).

You want to drip the solution into a high flow area of the tank, most folks use somewhere in the sump but really wherever it is convenient will do the trick.

Will this also work as a dosing container to be used with a Bubble Magnus dosing pump and air line tubing? Thanks.

Hi Jeff,
This is a fitting kit to create a mall dropped using your own container. You could certainly use some of
It's parts to create a dosing pump container as well, though a dosing pump doesn't require an air tight seal (in fact it must be vented) so you wouldn't need to make it nearly as complex. Just a simple dip tube and an opening for air to get in would be all you need.
