Trace elements may be some of the least understood water parameters in our aquariums today. With so many individual trace elements in natural sea water, it's hard to test for them all-- until now. With the introduction of ICP testing, we're able to have a lab test dozens of trace elements for us. More and more reef aquarists are collecting this data on their own aquariums, so it’s easier to understand which elements matter more than others and quicker to identify potential problems in your aquarium.
If you prefer to do your own testing, we offer several titration-based trace element test kits for common parameters like iron, iodine, strontium, and more.
