Alkalinity
Alkalinity is one of the most important water parameters to test for if you’re keeping coral in your saltwater aquarium. Without the proper alkalinity levels, your stony corals will struggle to grow their hard calcium carbonate-based skeleton. For most reef tanks, we suggest an alkalinity of between 8 and 12 dKH, using an alkalinity test kit to ensure that your dosing regimen is adding the proper amount of alkalinity without under or overdosing.
