Hybrid lighting is simply the mixing of two different types of light fixtures to create one cohesive lighting system over the aquarium. In most cases, it’s a pendant style LED fixture combined with T5 or LED strips that act as fill light to give better lighting coverage over the tank and avoid issues with shadowing. This is especially important with branching corals like SPS, particularly when the colonies are large.
