Works with all BRS 4 Stage RO/DI Systems

This kit is designed to treat all primary water sources that are treated with chlorine and wells with low amounts of contaminants. This kit will work with all BRS 4 Stage RO/DI Systems and most other RO/DI units on the market today that use industry standard 10” filters.

    • Purtrex 5 Micron Sediment Filter
    • BRS 5 Micron VOC/Chlorine Carbon Block
    • 1.25 lb. Color Changing DI Resin Refill

The 4 Stage Replacement Filter Kit has been carefully selected to provide the best filtration for chlorine and VOC reduction. The kit includes a 5 Micron Purtrex Sediment Filter that are true graded density filters that will last longer than traditional sediment filters. The BRS Chlorine VOC Carbon Block has been specially formulated for industry leading chlorine and VOC reduction. We also include a single cartridge refill of color changing DI resin in a vacuum packed mylar bag.

Recommended installation for this filter kit:

    • Stage one: Purtrex 5 Micron Sediment Filter
    • Stage two: BRS Chlorine VOC 5 Micron Carbon Block
    • Last stage: DI Resin

BRS Chlorine and VOC Carbon Blocks are manufactured using high-performance carbon combined with a new binder system technology which maximizes the volume of microspores and surface area to improve performance.  The combination of advanced carbon technology, increasing volume of carbon contained in each filter, and proprietary manufacturing processes delivers exceptionally high chlorine, VOC, and general chemical performance.

    • Chlorine 15,000 @ 1 GPM**
    • High chemical adsorption*
    • 30% more carbon than standard blocks***
    • VOC Reduction
    • Exceptionally low-pressure drop

Purtrex Depth Sediment Filters are an exceptional value for general applications where long life, high purity, and low change-out frequency are required. Produced through GE Osmonics patented melt blown microfiber technology, Purtrex is a 100% pure polypropylene depth filter with exceptional dirt-holding capacity. Purtrex true-graded density filter matrix (lower density at the surface of the filter with progressively higher density toward the center) captures particles throughout the entire filter depth. This translates to longer life and fewer change-outs than existing string-wound or resin-bonded filters.

BRS Color Changing Resin is packaged in foil-lined 4mm Mylar bags and vacuum sealed to maintain maximum storage life and effectiveness.

    • Changes color from blue to brown as the media is exhausted.
    • 2-year shelf life (unopened)
    • Total cation capacity:  1.9 meq/mL min (Na+ form)
    • Total anion capacity:  1.25 meg/mL min (cl+ form)

Note: Membranes are not included in standard filter replacement kits. Membranes should be replaced as needed.

    Product Questions

Is it necessary to ever replace the 75 GPD Dow Filmtec Membrane? I notice these replacement filter kits only come with replacements for the sediment filter, micron block and DI resin. Want to make sure I've not been skipping a step when switching out old media.
Question by: Greg Sanders on Feb 26, 2024, 9:09 AM
Hey there Greg. Ideally the membrane will last around 2 years. If You will to use a TDS meter on the in section. You should reduce around 99% (with a single membrane) and bring your TDS on the In to around 0-10. If on the single membrane it is higher than 10 after running the unit you will want to consider a replacement. With the water saver version dual membrane the IN TDS will be a little bit higher closer to 5-15 TDS. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!
